About Nomads Rugby Print

The Nomads Rugby Club was the first ever Rugby Club in the Philippines.  For decades, if you wanted to play rugby the only game in town was with the Nomads.  In fact many of the other local clubs in the Philippines can trace their origins to Nomads Rugby, with Nomads members and Nomads players being instrumental in the formation of these clubs.

Nomads Rugby has long been the bastion of Rugby in the Philippines and continues this proud tradition to this day.  This was seen most recently with it being crowned the Plate Champions at last year’s (2008) M10s. Nomads also helped provide the foundation for the and even the last (2008) Philippine National Team

Nomads now has enough members to field two full strength men’s rugby teams for all local PRFU rugby events and against visiting teams, while continuing to spread the rugby gospel throughout Asia, by touring and participating in regional events.  Right now there are guys from the Philippines, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, England, Scotland, Wales, Holland, Belgium, Kenya and Zimbabwe in the squad. Truly Barbarian and nomadic in spirit, a mixture of Gallic passion, American drive, Canadian civility, Australian sarcasm, Kiwi commitment, Pommie grit, and Dutch football nous.

However, since 2005 the Nomads men have been complemented by the highly athletic and beautiful Nomads Bullettes Ladies Touch Football team – the first touch football club team in the country.  A team made up of mainly Filipina players who started with little or no experience in Touch Football, but now regularly challenge for the championship mantle in every tournament they join, against teams often half their age.

Finally of course we have our junior development program helping to nurture future Rugby & Touch Football stars.

Nomads Rugby YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE!!!
