Sydney Rats
Team
Country : Australia

The Sydney Rats will come together again in 2009 for another chance to compete for the title and be crowned the Manila 10’s Champions.

2008 saw the Sydney Rats arrive in Manila with a young, inexperienced team, but they lacked
nothing in spirit and fight. Carrying the ‘under-dog’ tag throughout the tournament, the Rats
played above their weight, using speed and skill to claim 3rd place in the cup.

The boys have come back bigger, faster and stronger than last year and are not going home
without the silverware in 2009. With several new members added to the team, the Sydney Rats also boast five current Philippine National players who will be playing in this years Asian 5 Nations tournament held in Manila and will be using this tournament as a stepping stone for their
preparations. The Rats are confident they can play exciting rugby as well as tear up the Manila
nightlife.

With a show of faith from 2009 sponsors Overgaard LTD, the team have got a lot to
play for and are aiming to repay our sponsors with a tournament win. So if you’re after some
exhilarating, innovative rugby and a good time out on the town, look out for the Sydney Rats
