Ligers RFC Founded in 1980 as a young sperm swam freely in his fathers……………..Or was it as a bunch of drunken Larrikins sat there watching napoleon dynamite on the big screen. Who knows never the less both exercises would have consisted of alcohol.
NOW: Information time. The reason that they are called a liger is because the father was a lion and the mother was a tiger. If the situation was reversed and the mother was a lion and the father was a tiger, he would be called a tigon, and would be a dwarf instead of a giant. A fully grown tigon is usually less than 350lbs. Ligers are not sterile, and they can reproduce. If a liger were to reproduce with a tiger, it would be called a titi, and if it were to reproduce with a lion, it would be call a lili. Just shows you learn something new everyday.
From the bottom of the North Island in New Zealand the Ligers bring its team across to play in its second tournament and consists of a few Virgins for the Tournament in Manila this year.
Players from clubs in Wellington and Wanganui have merged together for this special occasion.
The team consists this year of some very talented and experienced players, as well as those trying to get away from partners for ten days so have tagged along for the journey.
Yes some of you may just think the sheep shaggers from kiwi land but I feel this is a great opportunity to express the joys and pleasure of indulging in fornicating sheep and touching furry bums.
If I was to offer you all one piece of advice when it comes to this favourite pass time of ours it would be…Hind legs in the gum-boots and show the sheep the cliff edge. No Kissing.
We as a touring team look forward to experiencing the culture we experienced last time and getting to know many of you all whilst here in manila and catching up with friends we have made during our first tournament in 2007 where we unfortunately were runners up in the competition.
All the best and see you on the rugby field.
