Manila Mongrels went down fighting in a very tight encounter in the Semi-Finals of the Shield. Nothing much separated the two teams as they game moved to and fro across the field. Neither team gave an inch and also neither team significantly controlled the game.
The mongrels comprised of some players from Nomads, some from the old Makati Chiefs and some players from all over Manila who havent played in a permanent local team. For a team put together with only a week or so before the tournament they played extremely well and had their chances to win the game.
In the end the first half score by Kowloon 2 was enough and they will go through into the Bowl Final.
