In another local derby, the Eagles proved far too strong in their Quarter Final encounter against the Cebu Dragons.
Cebu had the ideal path to the quarters with their qualifier game being forfeited thanks to the NSW Crows flying the coop and not making it to the field.
However, the Eagles are a team brimming with speed out wide and full of youth and running. Led by Philippine National team player Andrew Wolff the eagles were continually able to give their Papua New Guinean outside backs the ball to slice through the Dragon defense. The eagles just had too much experience and too many options against their opponents from down south, even with the assured presence of Philippine National played Noel Flowers.
With the win the Eagles will face one of the Taipei teams in the Plate Semi-Final.
